The International Organisation for Migration has concluded a training and the provision of hygiene materials to the Ascension and Congo town communities.
The exercise was geared towards addressing compliance as the county has been declared Ebola free.
According to the project Assistant of the International Organisation for migration Kadiatu Sankoh, they thought it fit to organise the training to ensure the communities know the importance of hand washing and must be a continuous process. She added that the hygiene materials are meant to help them set up handwashing points in their various communities.
Madam Sankoh adds that handwashing is key to locate the chain of transmission.
The Project Assistant appeals to Sierra Leoneans to ensure they continue to adhere to preventive measures stressing the need to abolish complacency. She outlined the importance for the country to maintain and sustain the zero new infection; noting that much still needs to be done to ensure people do not relent to adhere to preventive measures.
