Renowned business man Vincent Kanu has been reported dead in London after a protracted illness.
The late man served at BP. From 1991 to 2002, and later Managing Director of National Petroleum until 2005, and later served at Agip in Italy, Cote d’Ivoire and Sierra Leone.
Mr. Kanu represented Italy in Sierra Leone as Consul and served as Dean of the Diplomatic corps.
Vincent Kanu had an illustrious career in the petroleum and mining sectors of Sierra Leone.
He was Board Chairman of National Petroleum and Chairman of Leonoil (Sierra –Leone) Limited.
Vincent Kanu was also Director of Access Bank (Sierra Leone) Limited, Calone Mining Company (S.L.) Ltd and NAMMINCO (National Minerals, Mining and Marketing Co) from 2001 to 2004.
In recognition of his record in business, he was honoured as a Grand Officer of the Rokel (“GOOR”) by President Koroma.
