Government has put several measures in place to be implemented along the border areas with Guinea, following the resurgence of Ebola in that country.
According to a release issued by State House, the decision was taken following a meeting between the President, relevant ministers and the National Security Team.
The measures, according to the release, the Military Aid to Civil Power, MAC-P will be invoked in Sierra Leone’s border areas with Guinea and that Ebola screening and surveillance activities be instituted in all border crossing points.
The State House release adds that the National Disaster Management Team should visit border regions with Guinea especially the Kailahun axis to heighten awareness and Ebola prevention control measures among the people.
The release assures the public that government will continue to closely monitor the situation in Guinea and also encourages all to cooperate with the security and health personnel to keep Ebola in check.
