Ebola hits Sierra Leone again

After sixty-eight days of enhance surveillance period, Sierra Leone recorded a new Ebola case last week. The positive case was record after the death of a 22 year old female student at Magburaka Town on the 12th of January.

This new case comes at a time when Sierra Leone was entering the 68th day of its 90 day enhanced surveillance period that was due to end on February 5th.

A press release from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation states that government is currently on the ground with support from the international community. Sidi Yayah Tunis is the communications person for the Ministry of Health he spoke to SLBC’s Asmieu Bah during our sister programme Podium.
