CARITAS Freetown has provided school kits and a cash donation of Two Hundred and Seventy Thousand Leones to each pupil for the purchase of school uniforms and lunch.
The Programme Manager of CARITAS Freetown Ishmael Alfred Charles says the donation is to complement government efforts and their parents by ensuring the children continue with their education.
He described education as a key tool for children as future leaders encouraging them to take school work serious despite their status. He pledged that CARITAS continued support to the flood victims especially the children, aged and women so that they will be able to regain their past glory.
Finance Manager of CARITAS Freetown Musa Peter Moiqua urged the parents to ensure their children make use of the school kits and the cash donation. He added that they have set up a monitoring team of the activities of the student to ensure they are using the facility.
