Youth Arise in partnership with other unions and associations have called on Sierra Leoneans not to forget 6th January 1996 and Ebola victims to reflect on the root causes that led to such incidents.

According to a press release from youth Arise January 6 1996 was a period when Thousands of Sierra Leoneans were killed, amputated and property destroyed.

The release calls on the public to commemorate January 6 in various ways ranging from face-to-face dialogue, prayers in churches and mosques to remember lost souls and victims of the Ebola virus.

The release encouraged government and citizens to set aside a special national mourning day to pray for the souls that were lost in such incidents.
