Zainab Hawa Bangura is now the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary General on Sexual Violence in Conflict.

The Sierra Leonean born former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Health Zainab Hawa Bangura is now the United Nations Special Representative of the Secretary General on Sexual Violence in Conflict.

Madam Bangura ascended to that position in 2013 and since that time she has been visited many conflict countries and has seen firsthand how warring factions used rape as a weapon of war.
