Water, Hygiene and Sanitation Network, WASH-Net in partnership with VSO and Water Aid have ended a community meeting with stakeholders and Ebola Survivors of Monkey Bush and other areas in the Western Area Rural District.
The theme was Joint Ebola Response, Racing to Zero. The meeting aimed at ensuring that participants map-out challenges that Ebola has brought into their communities and suggest solution to address them.
WASH-Net organized this meeting to identify the Water, Sanitation and Hygiene needs of the people at Monkey Bush so that they would have strong evidence to advocate for these needs to be addressed either by government or NGOs.
The WASH-Net Western Area Rural District Focal person Sahr Moses Lamin informed participants that the government has to do more on water and Sanitation in its post-Ebola action. He noted that, the government has set aside huge money to purchase drugs and other health materials.
