Three Lecturers from the Mass Communication Department of Fourah Bay College have received five thousand dollars each as part of SLAJ/ Airtel Post graduate Scholarships.
The recipients are Willet James, Francis Sowa, and Torya Musa all lecturers in the in mass communications department.
The President of the Sierra Leone Association Of Journalists SLAJ Kelvin Lewis said the scholarship is an initiative by the Association to increase the body of knowledge of its members.
He thanked Airtel Mobile Company for supporting his vision to improve the capacity of journalists. The thirty five million Leones Scholarship he went on will enhance the research work of the candidates.
Airtel Managing Director Dabo Olasope has described education as the bedrock of any nation, and expressed Airtel’S commitment to support Sierra Leone’s educational drive.
Other journalists also received a cheque of one million Leones winners of excellent reporting in diverse areas.
Meanwhile the President of the Sierra Leone Association of Journalists SLAJ Kelvin Lewis has re-launched the twenty five million Leones grant by Airtel to support primary school kids of SLAJ members.
