As President Ernest Bai Koroma leaves for the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York the speaker of the House Honourable Sheku Badara Bashiru Dumbuya has been sworn in as Acting president by the Chief Justice Abdulai Charm at Stat house.

According to the constitution, in the absence of the president and the vice president, the speaker of the house of parliament should be sworn as acting president.

Taking the oath of office the acting president assured all to discharge of his duties diligently.
 
The ceremony was attended by the secretary to President E.B. Osho Coker, the Chief justice Abdulai Charm, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Honourable Chernor Bah, the Clerk of parliament Honourable Ibrahim Sesay among others.
