The Political Parties Registration Commission will no longer mediate the ongoing peace process between Ambassador Allie Bangura and Executive members of the Main Opposition Sierra Leone People’s Party.
This was disclosed at a press conference by the Chairman of the Political Parties Registration Commission Hon Justice Maitland Tolla Thompson at their Commission’s Head Office.
He said the Commission decided to pull out because the aggrieved party led by Ambassador Allie Bangura backed out of the peace process and decided to go ahead with the matter in the Supreme Court.
He said PPRC is not a Court of Law but it works with political parties to look into issues that affect political parties’ especially intra-party conflict.
Chairman National Electoral Commission and Chief Electoral Commissioner N’fa Allie Conteh said as Commissions working with political parties, they are dismayed that the matter could not be resolved by them.
