The National Federation of Civil Society and Media Organisations in Sierra Leone say it has indefinitely suspended the former Chairman of the federation Victor Lansana Koroma from all its activities with immediate effect as Chairman. A release issued by the Federation urges that Victor Lansana submit to the Acting Chairman of the federation Foday Sesay all documents and property of the federation.
The release notes Victor Lansana Koroma’s vicious Media attack against the Director of the Open Government Initiative that apart from involving herself in illegal activities, the Director has also shown a great disrespect to authorities, including the House of Parliament.
The release adds that, the media Membership of the federation has no knowledge about such allegations in the said media reports, nor were they consulted before the circulation of what they describe as so-called letter of complaint to the president and other stakeholders.
The federation is encouraging members of the public to have confidence in the federation, the open Government Initiative and the Open Government partnership, the release ends.
