The Kailahun District Management Team has reported suspected cases of Measles from Guinea to the Kissi Kama chiefdom in the Kailahun District.
According to a release from the Ministry of Health and Sanitation, surveillance report stated that two samples were collected from two children, John Moseray and Shar Kortu Lavalie of Kunduma Kissi Kama Chiefdom, but were seen and treated at the Dia Community Health Centre.
According to the release the child Sahr Kortu was on the catarrah stage with fever, conjunctive, cough, coryza and weakness whilst john Moseray was reportedly on the prodromal stage with coryza and weakness.
Kunduma according to the surveillance report also recorded ten children suspected to have measles.
Meanwhile, the Kailahun District Health Management Team last Saturday mounted a community sensitization campaign in all eight villages in the chiefdom with the ring vaccination of the left over buffer stock from the past measles campaign.
