Religious leaders representing different tribal Mosques in Freetown have embarked on a mosque to mosque awareness raising drive with the aim to establish inter-tribal network that would help harmonize social relationships among the country’s ethnic groups.
The initiative has been embraced by the different ethnic groups of the Islamic Community in Freetown. Religious Leaders and representatives of the Mende, Fullah, Limba, Susu and the Temne Central Mosques, among others, were in attendance at the recent meeting at the Jami-ul Atiq Mosque in the Fourah Bay Community .
Alhaji Issa Kacto Kamara on behalf of the visiting delegation made a donation of bags of rice and cash to the host congregation.
The move is expected to extend to other mosques before Ramadan ends.
