Over 20 Journalists schooled on reporting the activities of Audit service

Over Twenty Journalists from the parliamentary Press Gallery have been schooled on reporting the activities of Audit Service. The Training by Audit Service Sierra Leone is as a result of request by the leadership of the Gallery to increase the knowledge of its membership.

The Audit Service Sierra Leone is entrusted with the responsibility to enhance probity of the country’s financial resources. The Country’s revenue is largely from tax payers; therefore, accountability by public officials is key.

The media also has a crucial role to promote accountability of public funds, which, according to the president of the parliamentary Press Gallery has prompted this partnership.

The Deputy Auditor General Tamba Momoh made presentations on the operations of the Audit Service, Public Financial Management and Audit processes.
