The Environment foundation For Africa on forest preservation

The Environment foundation For Africa is on a ten week project for five primary schools in the peninsula area, teaching pupils to know about nature and how to take care of the forest and the environment.

The project is catering for one hundred pupils to get an insight into the environment.

When SLBC visited the center at Sussex we realized that the pupils are more interested in learning about the environment and made commitment to protect the forest.

Health Alert has called on the Constitutional Review Committee…

Health Alert has called on the Constitutional Review Committee to include the Free Health Care in the new constitution. Free Health Care was introduced by President Koroma in 2010 for pregnant women, lactating mothers, and children under five.

Health Alert is of the view that if included in the new constitution Sierra Leoneans will have access to health care services.

Right to access information law in Sierra Leone

Society for Democratic Initiative Sierra Leone and the Freedom of Information Coalition have trained journalists and Civil Society activists on the implementation of the Right to access information law in Sierra Leone.

The training had as it theme- “structures and systems must be put in place to ensure a smooth implementation of the right to access information law”.

President Ernest Bai Koroma has left the shores of Sierra Leone for India to attend the India/Africa forum summit. The India-Africa forum summit is aimed at expanding cooperation between the two sides. India hopes to create conditions that will stimulate trade and investment flows between India and African countries.

The Agenda-2063 document of India spells out Africa’s vision over the next five decades closely aligned with Indian and African “development goals” and “international aspirations.”

The Minister of Energy, Ambassador Henry Olufemi Macauley signed a new agreement

The Minister of Energy, Ambassador Henry Olufemi Macauley last week signed a compact agreement with the United Kingdom Government through the Minister of State for DFID, the right Honorable Grant Shappes in London. The event was the launching of the Energy Africa Initiative which seekd to bring rapid home solar power solution to rural areas. On the line to London, my producer Reginald Strasser-King spoke to Ambassador Henry Macauley to find out more.
